Jamie Thomack Obituary

Jamie G Thomack, age 53, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2020 at his farm in the Township of Pella, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on September 6, 1966 to Gary and Diane (Suehring) Thomack, Jamie, the eldest of three children was a natural born leader and was destined to forge his own path. He developed his love for farming while growing up on the Thomack family farm. After graduating from Marion High School in 1984, Jamie took his farming knowledge and moved to a neighboring farm of his own. At Jerry and Pat’s in 1985, Jamie would meet Laurie (Kust), the love of his life. On October 14, 1989 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville, the two married. A blessing would come shortly after in the form of their son, Cody. About three years later, Jamie and his family moved just a short half-mile down the road where they received their second blessing, their daughter, Brooke. At this farm, the family would carry on with their business of milking cows for the next 17 years and for the rest of Jamie’s life he continued his passion of cash cropping. While cropping and cows may have occupied his time, it was his hunting expertise, generosity, and love for life that left an indelible mark on anyone who met him. Jamie always appeared to be the leader of the pack, with his take charge attitude. His love for hound hunting grew through the years and introduced him to so many great people along the way. Jamie’s strong personality is what drew everyone to him, whether it had to do with hunting coon, bear, coyote, deer or just a simple fire-side chat about life, you could always guarantee you would leave with some classic Jamie wisdom. He seemed to have all the answers. The joy that Jamie brought to life was infectious. His wit, strong personality, love for others, and the adventures that he shared will always be remembered fondly by those who loved him. After a hard-fought battle with cancer, it was only fitting that the sun would set on a life as big as his, on the Fourth of July.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie, their son Cody and daughter Brooke (Kyle) Pingel. Granddaughter, Evelyn Pingel and a Grandchild on the way. Father, Gary Thomack, Marion. Brother, Scott Thomack, Marion. Sister, Tammy (Clint) Sumnicht, Shawano.

He is further survived by two special nephews, Akrin and Braden Verhein, along with many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Jamie is preceded in death by his mother Diane and his in-laws Bernard and Jeanette Kust.
