Janet A. Arndt, age 78 of the Town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, passed away Tuesday morning May 14, 2024 at Homme Home in Wittenberg.
Janet Ann Kastner was born on April 1, 1946 in Waukesha as the daughter of the late Leo and Eunice (Johnson) Kastner. Her family moved a number of times and eventually settled in Tigerton where she attended school. On November 14, 1970 Janet was united in marriage to Wayne Arndt at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton. Janet worked in the bakery of Red Owl in Tigerton and Econofoods in Clintonville; getting up early lots of mornings to bake fresh bread. Throughout the years Janet enjoyed driving school bus and served as custodian for the Tigerton School District until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Split Rock where she helped out with various tasks and projects. Janet’s focus always remained on her family and she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities whenever possible.
Survivors include: Her Husband: Wayne Arndt.
Children: Scott (Karyn) Berg, Lee (Vicki) Berg, Tom (significant other Kim) Berg, and Shelly (Jeff) Kraning.
13 Grandchildren: James Berg, Heather Berg, Dylan (Rachel) Berg, Houston (Devin) Kizewski, Tyler (Amanda) Berg, Alec (Kylie) Berg, Jon (Heather) Berg, Jordan Arndt, Tasha (James) Kersten, Tabitha (significant other Tyler) Arndt, Fred (Aubrie) Kraning, Jada Kraning, & Ashley Kraning.
12 Great-Grandchildren: Chayton, Maddux, Myla, Kamryn, Cooper, Laiklyn, Saylor, Jett, Dax, Lorelai, Dawson, & Coltyn

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Eunice, her first husband Jim Berg, a son Robert “Bob” Arndt, a brother Kenneth Johnson, and a sister Sandy Werner.
Janet’s Memorial Service will be held Thursday May 23, 2024 at 11am at Peace Lutheran Church in Split Rock with Rev. Jim Folz officiating. Inurnment will follow at Union Cemetery in Tigerton. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9am until the time of the service. Janet’s family would like to thank the staff at Homme Home and Compassus Hospice for their excellent care.
