Janet M. Malueg, age 91 years, of Clintonville passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.
She was born on May 21, 1914, one of four children born to John and Joanna Kelly in Antigo where she attended St. John's School. She moved with her family at the age of nine to Clintonville, where she attended St. Rose School and Clintonville High School, from which she graduated in 1932. She met and married Orval Malueg in Clintonville, where they lived for the duration of their lives, he preceded her in death in 1992. Janet was as creative as she was athletic; she was an artist, a pianist, a violinist, and an avid golfer. She was a member of both the Junior and Senior Women's Clubs, and Clintonville Riverside Golf Course. Janet was one of the four founding members of the Clintonville Symphony Orchestra in the 1940's, playing first violin throughout the life of the orchestra. She is a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a life member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Janet began the St. Rose Bridge Marathon in 1956, in which she participated until two years ago.
Surviving her are her three children; Dr. Thomas (Judy) Malueg of Neenah, Rosemary (John) Solberg of Clintonville, and Atty. Douglas Malueg of Clintonville. There are five grandchildren; Mark (Anne) Malueg of Wilmette, IL, Kurt (Kim) Malueg of Steamboat Springs, CO, Robert Ritzenthaler of Nairobi, Kenya, Thomas Ritzenthaler of St. Paul, MN, and Mary (Ken) Pantoga of New York, NY. Further survived by five great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Charity Kelly of Clintonville, many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, two sisters, and a grandson, Michael Malueg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Msgr. John B. Dewane will officiate and interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family.
The family wishes to especially thank the staff of Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice, Green Bay, and Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville, for the loving care provided to their mother. Janet will be recalled for many things and events in her life, but her Irish wit will be among our greatest memories. "...may the road rise up to meet you...", from an Irish Blessing.
