Jeannie Marie (Merholtz) Carlstrom

Jeannie M. Carlstrom, nee Merholtz, age 74 of Appleton, passed away on Thursday morning, April 14, 2022 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna.

Jeannie Marie Carlstrom, nee Merholtz was born June 18, 1947 in Bear Creek, WI, daughter to the late Clifford & Evelyn (Hanson) Merholtz. She worked at Evey’s Restaurant, Bear Creek, WI which was owned by her mother. Jeannie remained in the restaurant business her whole life until retiring as the manager of Perkins in Stevens Point, WI. She was united in marriage to Arnold “Arnie” Carlstrom on July 14, 1984 in Stevens Point. Together, they lived and owned a beef cattle farm and Jeannie loved the farm life. She was always excited when new calves were born, and enjoyed giving tractor rides to all of her grandchildren. A huge vegetable garden was planted every year and she canned everything from beets to pickles. Jeannie also liked to go fishing over the years with her family. Arnold preceded her in death in 2013. Jeannie will be remembered for her loud, contagious laughter. Jeannie missed her mother Evelyn, and spoke of her often; the family is comforted knowing that she is with her again, her sister, Sandy, and many other loved ones in Heaven.

Grandchildren: Ryan (Lyndsey) Malliet, Jay (Becca) Malliet, & Carson Huiting
Great-grandchildren: Corbin, Henry, Nathan, Lorelai, & Jenavieve Malliet
Brother: James (Barb) Merholtz, Town of Matteson
Brother-in-law: Roy Starks, Green Bay

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; her sister, Sandra Starks, & her in-laws David (Toni) Carlstrom.

A memorial service will be held 12 PM Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Jason Zobel from St. Martin Lutheran Church officiating.

A visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 11 AM until the time of service.
