Jeffrey "Jeff" Zillmer Obituary

Jeffrey L. Zillmer, age 72 of Marion, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026 at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, surrounded by his family.

Jeffrey Lee Zillmer was born August 1, 1953 in Clintonville, WI, son to the late Wilbert “Willie” & Patricia “Pat” (Mitchell) Zillmer. He grew up with a strong work ethic, spending his early years working on the Zillmer family farm.

Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1974. As an active-duty rifleman, he was stationed in Sicily, where he guarded the U.S. Embassy. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Shooting Badge. Following his active duty, he continued his service in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1978.

Upon returning to civilian life, Jeff contributed to his community through his work and volunteerism. He worked for Marion Feed & Grain and Marion Milling before beginning a long career with the Waupaca County Highway Department, from which he retired after 23 years of dedicated service. Jeff also served as a volunteer fireman for the city of Marion for many years and was an active member of the William Bertram American Legion Post #198 and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dupont.

On October 6, 1984, Jeff married the love of his life, Donna Mae Suehring. A devoted family man, Jeff took great pride in supporting his stepchildren, Sue and Jim.

In his free time, Jeff was happiest in his garage, cheering on the Brewers and the Packers. He had a gentle heart for nature and enjoyed feeding the local birds and ducks. Known for his friendly nature, Jeff could often be found around town enjoying the company of his many friends.
