Jennie L. Johnson, age 81 of the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County passed away peacefully on Friday evening August 23, 2024 following a brief battle with cancer.
Jennie was born on August 3, 1943 to the late Victor and LaVerne (Hanson) Bricco in New London. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Bear Creek and later St. Rose Catholic School in Clintonville. Jennie then went on to Clintonville High School. In 1961 she married Floyd Pluger and had two sons; Tim and Scott. They divorced in 1999 and she later married John Johnson on February 14, 2007 whom she loved until her death. Jennie worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Town & Country Drywall and later for the Clintonville Housing Authority as an Administrative Assistant and Executive Director until her retirement in 2013. She liked spending time at their camper at Farmer Gene’s, especially when her great-grandchildren were there. She loved to garden and decorate with flowers, spend time with her great-grandchildren, and she loved to decorate inside and out. She dabbled in lots of crafts and gave many of them to family and friends.
Jennie is survived by her husband: John Johnson.
Sons: Tim (Anne Long) Pluger & Scott (Theresa) Pluger.
Step-Sons: Lee (Trisha) Johnson & Sam (Jodi Nero) Johnson.
Grandchildren: Chad (Sara Sleeman) Pluger, Amie (Kavit) Beyersdorf, Stephen (Kelly) Pluger, Whitney (Brandon) Nitzske, & Kelly (Devon) Roth.
Step-Grandchildren: Taylor, Nora, Clara, & Jack Johnson.
17 Great-Grandchildren.
Siblings: Patty (Jack) Trieglaff, Don (Mary Prentice) Bricco, Linda (David) Myers, Cindy (Henry) Kelly, & Mary Jo (Jeff) Johnson.
Her beloved dog Joey.
Also numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Cody Pluger, a most precious great-granddaughter Madison Pluger whom she spent a great deal of time with, sisters Lea Anne Poole & Jo Ann Krueger, brothers Dennis & Dick Bricco, and special dog Annie.
Per Jennie’s wishes a graveside service will be held at 10am on Thursday August 29, 2024 at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville with Rev. Jill Meyer officiating.
