Jerry Ray Strong was born October 6, 1939 in Clintonville, WI, son to the late Ryle & Julia (VanPatten) Strong. He attended Clintonville Schools but left to serve his country in the U.S. Army in January of 1957. Jerry was a truck driver/equipment operator in the Army, serving in Beirut, Lebanon and both France and Germany. After his honorable discharge in 1959, he returned to the states and worked in Milwaukee for a short time; then moved back to the area. Jerry was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Lundt at Christus Lutheran Church on October 15, 1960. He started work at F.W.D. Seagrave where he worked as a field service engineer traveling all over the U.S.; later earning a supervisor role toward the end of his 40 years of service. After his initial retirement in 2012, he also worked for Fire Unlimited in Legend Lake until his full retirement in 2021. Jerry enjoyed working out in the garage and tinkering with his projects. He restored an old fire truck with his close friend Jack Beggs, that they drove in many parades over the years. He also enjoyed working on other antiques. Jerry rode motorcycles for many years with friends and was also a firearms enthusiast who enjoyed adding to his collection often.
