Joan A. Gehling, age 74 of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday April 11, 2021, at her home.
Joan Ann Gehling was born January 14, 1947 in Chicago, IL, daughter to the late Myles & Mary (Saunders) Rightmire. She spent her childhood in Lisle, IL, and later graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. Her adventurous spirit eventually brought her to northeast Wisconsin in the late 1970’s. Joan was accepted at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay as a returning adult student, and later graduated Summa Cum Laude; an achievement of which she was very proud. In the 1990’s she settled in Clintonville and was united in marriage to Richard A. Gehling in April of 1996. The couple enjoyed camping and watching the Green Bay Packers. Joan was an excellent cook and also enjoyed gardening, canning, and crafting. Her children and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her family put it best when describing her life as “one wild ride.” Joan was a vibrant woman who was able to laugh at herself, not taking herself too seriously. She will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her; although the squirrels living in her yard certainly won’t!
She is survived by her husband, Richard
