Jodie Laatsch Obituary

Jodie L. Laatsch, age 48 of New London, was called home to her Savior on Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2026, following a courageous and graceful battle with cancer.

Jodie Lynn Schewe was born on October 20, 1977, in Shawano, the daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy (Niemuth) Schewe. A 1996 graduate of Clintonville High School, Jodie went on to attend Fox Valley Technical College before beginning a dedicated 27- year career in the Loan Department at First State Bank in New London. While Jodie was a respected professional, her true North Star was her children, Hayden and Cameron. Her pride in them was endless, and her love for them was the quiet strength behind everything she did. Whether they were watching movies together or taking their dog, Hoyt, for long walks, Jodie’s happiest moments were spent in their company. Jodie found peace in nature, joy in travel, and a sense of wonder in the Christmas season. A loyal fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers, she enjoyed attending their games or watching them on TV. Jodie also enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, staying fit and spending time laughing and sharing funny stories with her friends and family. Her steadfast faith led her to Trinity Lutheran Church, and it is that same faith that reassures her family she is now at peace and at home with her Savior. Jodie was a beautiful soul, inside and out. Her endless kindness and humor will remain a guiding light for her children and all who were lucky enough to know her.
