John Sippel, Sr., age 86 of the Town of Washington, Shawano County passed away at his home Saturday morning October 15, 2022 under the care of his family and ThedaCare at Home Hospice.
John was born on June 24, 1936 in Fond du Lac as the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Goeser) Sippel. As a young man he served his country in the United States Air Force. John was stationed in Laredo, TX where he was united in marriage to Evangeline “Eva” Guardjo. The couple returned to Wisconsin where John was employed as a painter; mainly working on barns and houses. For the bulk of his working career though, John was employed as a machinist for Tecumseh Products in Sheboygan Falls. He retired at age 62 and moved to Shawano Lake where the couple built their home. John then worked at American Marine in Shawano for quite a few years; mainly overseeing operations in the warehouse. Although he kept busy working on projects around his home, John was very much an avid outdoorsman.
