Joseph Gau Obituary

Joseph D. Gau, age 68 of Bear Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon October 21, 2021 at his home.

Joseph Donald Gau was born January 8, 1953 in Fond du Lac, WI, son to the late Joseph E. & Helen M. (Winter) Gau. He attended L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, where he took part in various school plays; later graduating with the class of 1972. Joseph worked at the Neenah Foundry for about eight years, and later worked for Great Northern Corporation, Appleton, for many years. Anyone who knew him, knew about his absolute passion for woodworking. More specifically, 18th century Queen Anne style furniture; he carefully crafted many spectacular desks, chairs, and wardrobes over the years. He was involved with some local groups as well who shared the same passion. Joseph liked to watch the Brewers and Packers play, birdwatching, and his favorite card game, Skip-Bo. He was a talented individual who will be missed and remembered by many people.
