Josephine M. Bak, age 90 of the Town of Grant passed away Friday morning, February 4, 2022 at The Pines in Embarrass.
Josephine was born on May 4, 1931 in Dabrowa, Poland as the daughter of the late Stefan and Janina (Galla) Melon. Her childhood was greatly impacted by events of World War II where she saw and experienced things nobody, let alone a child, should ever have to experience. Her family immigrated to Canada in the late 1940s and then to the Milwaukee area on January 1, 1951. She was united in marriage to John Bak and the couple raised their family in Franklin prior to moving to the Town of Grant. Josephine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marion where she attended church where she was loved and considered a jewel in her spiritual community. She loved spending time working in her flower garden, crocheting, knitting, or sitting down with a good book.
Survivors include: Her Husband: John Bak.
Children: Ed Bak, Henry Bak, Halina Bak-Hughes (Sheldon Hughes), and Steve Bak.
Granddaughter: Amber Bak
Great-Grandchildren: Justice & Jackson
Also Siblings: Theresa (David Neitzel) Bucko & Miroslaw (Alfreda) Melon.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Wanda Bak, and sisters Pola Marek and Christine Mech.
