Karen Reeck Obituary

Karen L. Reeck, age 78 of Pella, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 17, 2020.

Karen Lee Reeck was born on September 1, 1942 in West Allis, WI to the late Carol & Florence (Mullinix) Eckley.  She was married to Carlyle “Sonny” Reeck on February 16, 1993.  She worked many jobs but one of her favorites was taking care of over 250 foster children in Dodge and Shawano Counties.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, word puzzles, music, baking, cooking and giving horse drawn wagon rides with her husband.  She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Kaye (Wendy Mathison) Kangas, Kent (Megan) Van Buren, Rebecca Van Buren, and Matthew (Jess) Van Buren; grandchildren: Jordan and Hailee Saunders; great-grandchildren: Michael & Daniel, along with nephews, Steve (Shannon) Eckley, Mark Eckley and Colin (Kari) Eckley and her cat Dutchess.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sonny, brother Robert Eckley, sister-in-law Rosemary Eckley, and brother-in-law Jerry Reeck.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Karen Reimer officiating.

Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the time of service.

The family would like to thank ThedaCare Hospice, the Pines Post Acute Memory Care, Dr. Alexander Starr and Kristen Brockdorf N.P. of ThedaCare Oncology.

The family welcomes donations to Shawano County Humane Society as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.
