Karmen K. Kautz, age 78 of Muskego, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah.
Karmen Kay Kautz was born on November 9, 1942 in Marion, WI, daughter to the late Leo & Blanche (Nelson) Kautz. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1960 and then worked for A.A.L., Appleton for a time. Karmen was united in marriage to Thomas Schertz in July of 1961 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The couple had two children, but later, divorced. She worked at Urban Telephone, (now Frontier Communications) and Miller Supply. Karmen moved to the Milwaukee area where she has lived since, working as a server at Arlene’s Restaurant, Big Bend. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Muskego. Karmen enjoyed raising and caring for animals, especially chickens and her many cats over the years. She also really enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, and spending time up at the cabin in Lakewood, WI.
She is survived by her sons: Gregory Schertz & Jeffery Schertz, both of Kiel, WI

Sisters-in-law: Mary Kautz, Clintonville & Sharon Kautz, Wisconsin Rapids
Many nieces, nephews, and cousins
Karmen was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ronald R. Kautz & Richard Kautz; an infant brother, Michael, at birth; and her special friend, Leonard Lewins.
Interment will take place privately at Roseland Cemetery, Township of Dupont, with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating.
The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, is assisting the Kautz family.
