Kathy L. Soerens age 72 of Green Bay, passed away Sunday afternoon October 27, 2024 at The Pines Acute Memory Care in Embarrass, WI.
Kathy Lee Weyland was born on August 6, 1952 in Milwaukee as the daughter of the late Jack and Harriet (Clark) Weyland. She grew up in the Bark Lake-Hubertus area and attended Germantown High School. In 1970 she was united in marriage to Dean Brace and the couple had two sons Sean and Cody prior to Dean’s passing at a young age. In 1986 Kathy was united in marriage to Roy Soerens in Juneau. Kathy began working as a young woman in the photography business at Sundance Photo in Jackson and later worked for her sister Lisa and her husband Fred Riemer (deceased) at their machine shop in Germantown. Kathy and her family moved a number of times in their lives but in 1986 settled in Iron Ridge. During this time she worked for a number of law offices as a paralegal. She was outgoing and even feisty at times but had a soft spot for anyone in need. Kathy even opened her doors to a number of them over the years when a friend was down on their luck. She loved animals and had many pets throughout her life but cats were her favorite; her home even became affectionately known as “The Cat Ranch”. Her generosity and love of family will be missed.
Survivors include: Her husband: Roy Soerens.
Sons: Sean Brace and Cody (Carol) Brace.
Granddaughters: Kloe & Bryanna Brace.
Siblings: Dorrine (Randy) Dahleen, Linda (Bob) Ford, Joyce (Jim) Coffey, Lisa (Terry) Pickard, Kenny Weyland, and Eric Weyland.
Brother-in-laws: Gary Frantl, David (Gayle) Soerens, Dale Soerens, and Roger Soerens
Also numerous nieces and nephews.
