Kenneth Lodewegen Obituary

Kenneth H. Lodewegen, age 77 of Marion, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday evening, November 10, 2020.

Kenneth “Ken” Henry Lodewegen was born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1943, son to the late Henry & Minnie (Van Zyl) Lodewegen. At the age of four, Ken moved with his family to the Split Rock area and attended Tigerton Schools. He was gifted at sports, playing basketball and baseball exceptionally well. Ken graduated from Tigerton High School in 1961. He then played BABA baseball with the Marion Meisters, and was inducted into the their hall of fame. Ken was even drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies, but was unable to follow through with his dream due to a serious injury. He was united in marriage to Sharon Robertson on September 5, 1964 at St. John’s Church, Tigerton. Ken worked for a short time for a leather goods company in West Bend, and later for Seagrave in Clintonville; eventually settling in his career at Marion Body Works retiring after 45 years of service. He was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church, Marion where he was active. In 1993, Ken was given such a special gift, in the way of a kidney transplant, donated by his loving sister, Beverly. This undoubtedly, gave him many more years with his family. Ken loved going on his annual “Carter” fishing trips with his sons, his close friends, and their sons as well. He loved cooking on the grill, and watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers play. Golfing was a great pastime of Ken’s, enjoying membership at Maple Hills, Wittenberg and Riverside, Clintonville; many great memories made with his golfing buddies. Ken enjoyed hunting in his younger years, and really loved pan-fishing; for Bluegill, Walleye, & Perch, but NOT Sunfish. Ken was a social guy, he really enjoyed having fun with friends and family, especially his sons; and will be remembered as friendly man with a kind heart.
