Kenneth R. Smith, age 87 of Marion, passed away early Thursday morning, June 5, 2025 at Cherry Meadows Hospice Facility, Appleton.
Kenneth “Ken” Roger Smith was born in Appleton, WI son to the late James & Esther (Hoppe) Smith. He later graduated from Appleton High School and joined the U.S. Air Force. Ken served as an aircraft technician during the Vietnam War for a year, and was later stationed in Germany and other places in Europe for 12 years. After his honorable discharge from the military as a Staff Sergeant, Ken moved back to the Valley. He worked for both Kimberly Clark and Gulf Stream as a technician for many years. He was united in marriage to Patricia (nee. Ras) on July 17, 2017 in Iola, WI. Ken enjoyed fishing, working with his Ham radio, and touring the countryside in his sports car. Watching the deer in his backyard and feeding the hummingbirds was something Ken always loved. He also cherished his feline companion, Tina, who was always happy to have a pet or a snuggle.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Patricia
He was preceded in death by his parents; and all of his siblings.
As per Ken’s wishes, the arrangements are private. His final resting place will be at Roseland Cemetery, Town of Dupont.
