Kenneth "Ken" Wolf Obituary

Kenneth “Ken” August Wolf, age 82 of Shawano, passed away on December 19, 2021 at ThedaCare Hospital in Shawano.

Ken was born July 2, 1939, the second child of August and Alice (Mehlberg) Wolf. He and his sister Luella were raised on a farm in the Pella area. After graduating from Clintonville High School in 1957, Ken joined the United States Army National Guard. He worked for Badger Breeders (now CRI Genex) and then Northland Foods (now Foremost) in maintenance and as a fabricator. Additionally, he typically had another part time job including working for Ben Skalitzky and Lawrence Braatz. He married Bonnie nee Brandenburg on June 16, 1963 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella. They lived their entire married life in the Shawano area and are members of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Kenny was frequently called upon by neighbors and relatives to fix, modify, or build something they were in need of. He enjoyed gardening and time out at ‘the swamp’ hunting or making firewood. He was proud of only needing to use one bullet each deer season to bring home a deer. He often advised others and was many times heard to say, “come out to my office, I have to show you something,” which meant he had something in the garage to demonstrate or discuss. He never saw a screw or bolt that didn’t need to be sorted and saved for a future repair. He was an avid reader and during his retirement was often seen in his recliner with a book in hand and a Sundrop or coffee cup nearby.

Ken is survived by: His Wife: Bonnie.
Daughter: Cheryl (Kalvin) Boettcher.
Son: Jeffrey (Teresa) Wolf.
Grandchildren: Kayla Boettcher (Andrew) Seidl and Levi Wolf.
Great-Granddaughter: Margaret and a Great-Grandson arriving in the Spring.
Sisters-in-law: Carol Steenbock and Ardis (Norbert) Gaurke.
Also nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and her husband Luella (Gordon) Selle, Bonnie’s sister and her husband Ellen (John ‘Jack’) McQuillan, and a brother-in-law Donald Steenbock.
