Larry Lee Genskow

Larry L. Genskow, age 81 of Clintonville, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Larry Lee Genskow was born June 28, 1940 in the Township of Pella, Shawano County, son to the late Victor & Minnie (Polzin) Genskow. He attended Fairview Country School and later graduated from Marion High School. Right after high school, his father passed away suddenly, leaving the operation of the 100-acre family farm to Larry. He was united in marriage to Nathalie Boettcher at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, on October 5, 1963. After farming for a couple of years, Larry started work at Marion Body Works, but later was employed by the City of Clintonville as the Park & Recreation Superintendent. His job kept him very busy but he enjoyed it, until some health issues prompted an early retirement in 1997, after 25 years of service. Larry enjoyed fixing things, cutting wood, and spending time outdoors hunting or fishing. He was a long-time member of St. Martin Lutheran Church where he served on the Board of Elders and as an usher. He traveled around the U.S. to places like Nashville, the Black Hills, and Branson, as well as enjoying vacation time renting lakefront cabins over the years. In his younger days Larry was quite the water skier, even though he couldn’t swim, and he taught many others to ski as well. He’ll always be remembered as kind, gentle, helpful man who could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and two infant grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 12 PM Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Aric Fenske officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville following the service. 

Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service.
