Larry Thompson Obituary

Larry A. Thompson, age 68 of Clintonville passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning January 20, 2024 at the ThedaCare Medical Center in New London. 

Larry Alan Thompson was born in Racine as the 8th child of Harvey and Dorothy (Davison) Thompson. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1973 and joined the United States Army soon after. He proudly served with the 82nd Airborne Division of Fort Bragg, NC. He treasured his 2 tours stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1985. Larry worked many years at FWD Seagrave and later Schutt Industries in Clintonville; retiring in 2015. He was united in marriage to Patty Rohde which later ended in divorce, but was blessed with beautiful twin daughters, Melissa and Melanie in 1978. Larry enjoyed life with his better half, Penny Stueck for 30 plus years. Whether it was horse trail rides, shooting pool, or just hanging out with friends, Larry enjoyed it to the fullest and cherished time with his large family.  

Survivors include: His Better Half: Penny Stueck.
Daughters: Melissa (Fiance Stephen Moore) Nelson & Melanie (Jeff) Young.
Grandchildren: Paige, Peyton, Zac (Friend Abby), Trevor (Friend Jordan), and Ella.
Great-Granddaughters: Olivia & Quinn.
Brothers: Terry (Kathy) and Jerry (Delores) Thompson.
Sisters: Sandee Thompson, Rhonda (Jeff Laux) Havelick, and Kelly (Kevin Connolly) Thompson.
Also numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Harvey & Dorothy Thompson, brothers Darry, Harry, Perry, Barry, Gary, and Curt Thompson, sisters Marsha Krause, Barbara Alleman, and Frances Kauzrich, and by nephews Michael Perry Thompson and Steven Rohde.

Larry’s memorial service will be held Friday January 26, 2024 at 2pm at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home (South Location) 299 S. Main Street, Clintonville with Rev. Shelly Klemp officiating. Military honors will follow the service outside of the funeral home by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63, VFW Post #664, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, and D.A.V. Chapter #53. Inurnment will take place later in spring at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. The Thompson family would like to thank the Clintonville Ambulance Service and the ThedaCare New London ER for their kindness and assistance.
