Lester Mehlberg Obituary

Lester "Pete" Mehlberg, of W12948 Cty Trk M, Caroline, passed away Monday, June 5, 2006 at the Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah. The former Lester Harold Mehlberg was born February 18, 1927 in the Town of Grant, Shawano County, and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was the son of the late Harry H. and Martha W. (Dalum) Mehlberg. He served in the U.S. Army during WW 2, and was united in marriage to Caroldean Boehler at St. Rose Church, Clintonville, on August 4, 1956. Pete worked as a blacksmith/fabricator for the FWD Corporation, Clintonville, retiring in 1989 after 38 years. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Marion, and Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline. Pete was a charter member of the Blashe-Tober-Peters American Legion Post 456, and enjoyed his family, woodworking, and playing sheepshead.

Survivors include his wife, Caroldean, a daughter, Debra (Spc. friend Vernon Lorge) Mehlberg, Clintonville, a son Ralph Mehlberg, Fremont, a daughter, Jean (Kerry) Fisher, Clintonville, and a daughter, Joanne Mattes, Marion. There are 8 grandchildren, Robert Mattes, Jennifer Mattes, Nicholas Fisher, Max Fisher, Michael Fisher, Ethan Fisher, Kelsey Mehlberg, and Madison Mehlberg. One great-grandchild, Logan Mattes. Also one brother, Milton (Ramona) Mehlberg, Caroline. Pete was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary, 3 brothers, twin brother, Leslie, Wallace, and Clarence.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic church, Marion. Rev. Fr. John Girotti will officiate with the help of Rev. William Schruba. Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the BeiL-Didier Funeral Home, Marion for 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, and at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services. Military graveside rites will be performed by Caroline Legion Post 456.
