Louis H. Gehrt, age 82 of Embarrass, entered eternity on Sunday January 2, 2022 with his family by his side at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano.
Louis “Louie” Herman Gehrt was born December 28, 1939 in the Township of Matteson, son to the late Louis E. & Mildred M. (Balke) Gehrt. He was a lifetime resident on the family farm in Embarrass, WI. Louie was a man that entrusted and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He devoted a lot of time to learning the Bible and researching and teaching it. He was a Sunday school teacher in his younger years at Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass. Louie enjoyed the hard work the farm life brings. He was very talented as he was always able to fix anything, and could make something out of nothing. He enjoyed time with family, anything outdoors related to the farm and traveling. He loved prepping and tending to the pumpkin patch for the great nieces and nephews. Louie will be missed, but we know he is where he was prepared to go. He is singing beautiful hymns with the angels and reunited with his family that has passed before him.
Survivors include: brother, Ronald Gehrt; sisters, Eileen (Neil) Strauss & Mary (Steve) Stoffel; nephew, Rick (Carolyn) Strauss; nieces, Nicole (Mike) Claffey & Heather (Jeff) Kraus; and great nieces and nephews, Katie and Nash Strauss, Grant and Claudia Claffey and Jayden and Micah Kraus, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mildred Gehrt.
The Gehrt family would like to offer a special thank you to all the care givers that helped care for, and make his transition into eternity peacefully at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass, with the Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Interment will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Embarrass in the spring.
