Marjorie Fischer Obituary

Marjorie A. Fischer, age 79 of Clintonville, passed away Monday evening, January 2, 2023 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Marjorie Ann Fischer was born May 20, 1943 in New London, WI, daughter to the late David A. & Evern M. (Miller) Wegener. She attended schools in both Bear Creek and Clintonville and later worked at the Hansen Glove factory Clintonville for a time. Marjorie was united in marriage to August “Augie” Fischer Jr. on May 28, 1966 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. After their first child was born, Marjorie stayed home full-time to care for the family and the four additional children who followed. She loved being a mom and cherished the time spent with her children. She also helped other parents with daycare out of her own home. In her younger years, Marjorie was a great bowler and spent time with her women’s league in Tigerton. Augie worked as an over-the-road truck driver and Marjorie enjoyed traveling with him all over the contiguous United States and some trips to Canada. Cooking and baking were some thing in which she excelled; always hosting holiday gatherings and making tons of delicious food; her chili and vanilla cake with peanut butter frosting were family favorites. Family was everything to Marjorie; she helped care for her grandchildren while they were growing up as well. She’ll also be remembered for her large garden, in which grew all manner of vegetables and flowers. Lilac was her favorite flower, and her children remember weeding the large garden and helping her can the bounty from it, especially pickles. She also liked to watch the birds outside, humming birds were her favorite. Playing card-games in the Fischer family was something that everyone enjoyed; Marjorie’s favorite games were King’s Corner and Crazy 8’s. Her family will remember her as a devoted wife, mother, & grandmother, who always put family first.
