Obituary

Marjorie “Marge” L. Henn-Alft, age 89 of Tigerton, formerly of Clintonville passed away peacefully at her home Friday evening April 21, 2023.

Marjorie Lorraine Kauffman was born on December 9, 1933 in Tigerton as the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Bublitz) Kauffman, Sr. She graduated from Tigerton High School with the Class of 1951. On July 4, 1952 Marge, as she was affectionately known as, was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Henn at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigerton. The couple made their home in Clintonville where as a young woman Marge worked as a waitress at Heidershieds where she got her fist tip of $.25. She was later employed as a teller at First State and Associated Banks in Clintonville and later with Associated Bank in Shawano. Marge enjoyed her role as Senior Trip Coordinator for the banks she worked at which allowed her many opportunities to travel to Europe. She was known locally as the representative monument saleswoman for Appleton Marble & Granite Works; helping families design many beautiful monuments over the years. As faithful members of St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville Marge and Tony served the parish as the sextons of St. Rose Cemetery. Marge was also a past President of the PCCW as well as the St. Rose School Association. While raising their 5 children, Marge also was active in the Clintonville community as a Girl Scout Leader and helped with various other fundraisers over the years. Tony preceded his wife in death on May 24, 2004. On August 4, 2016 Marge was united in marriage to her classmate, Jerome Alft in Shawano. The couple resided in the Town of Fairbanks and enjoyed traveling together over the past 6 plus years. Marge was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers and kept an immaculately clean house.
