Marjorie A. Ziereis, age 67 of Embarrass passed away early Friday morning, May 23, 2025 at her home with her loving family at her side.
Marjorie “Margie” Ann Ziereis was born November 16, 1957 in Gary, IN, daughter to the late Robert & Mary (Hann) Mathews. She attended Merrillville Schools and graduated from the senior high school there in 1976. In 1983, Margie’s parents moved to the Clintonville area, and she moved here shortly after. She met Wayne Ziereis in 1991 while shooting pool along with a family friend. The couple were later united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass on October 23, 1993. Margie worked for Mike’s Town & Country, now Marketplace Foods, Clintonville, served in home health care for a time, then drove a school bus for the Clintonville District for many years. She had to retire early after suffering a stroke, but still was able to enjoy many things life had to offer. Margie loved camping, Christmas time cooking and hosting family, and listening to her favorite music. A love for animals meant that Margie had many pets that she loved over the years: she kept morning doves, her iguana, Pugsley, and many dogs over the years. She loved it when it snowed in the cold weather months, and listening to thunderstorms during the summer. Margie will be remembered for her perfect pumpkin pie, as a great cook, and a loving wife.
Margie is survived by her loving husband of nearly 32 years, Wayne
Her canine companions, Duck & Bo
Sisters: Marie Mathews & Michelle (Douglas) Lamb
Her in-laws: Debbie (Jeff) Schuelke, Penny Swinton, Duane (Jenny) Ziereis, & Sherri (Bart) Kuhnke
Many other nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are pending at this time.
