Marvin Marotz Obituary

Marvin "Marv" L. A. Marotz, age 83 of Clintonville, shed the constraints of his broken mind and body after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers on Friday, September 17, 2021. We celebrate for him, as he is finally free to enjoy an eternity with his Lord and is reunited with his loved ones in Heaven.

The last 13 years of life presented health challenges for Marvin. He never lost his will to give into the horrible disease, Alzheimers. Neither did his wife, Linda. She committed herself to his needs until 23 months ago when he entered St. Joseph Residence Monarch Meadows Memory Care. Marv was born on February 14, 1938 in Clintonville as the son of the late Raymond and Caroline (Koeller) Marotz. Marv lived in Clintonville all of his life, except for his years of service with the U.S. Air Force. He attended schools in Clintonville and graduated in 1956. Marv married Linda Pietz on February 16, 1963 at St. Martin Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two great sons, Mark and Craig. God blessed them with 58 wonderful years together. Always a working man, he rarely sat until his shoes came off at the end of the day. Marv worked at FWD Seagrave for 35 years, retiring in March of 2000. Through the years, Marv enjoyed bowling, hunting & fishing, camping with family and friends, spending time at Leon & Barb’s cottage on Post Lake, fixing and building things (there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do), old cars; especially his Corvairs, polka music and classic country. He never passed up a chance to go to a polka dance. Marv was a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Corvair Club and a lifetime member of VFW Post #664 where he was a past Commander and served for many years on the Military Honor Guard Detail. Marv was a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served on the Board of Trustees, the Parsonage Building Committee, and as an usher. For many years Marv enjoyed maintaining the church grounds and cleaning the church.

Sons: Mark (Rainee Bredda) Marotz & Craig (Jeannette Starkey) Marotz.

Marv’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Residence Monarch Meadows. We will be forever grateful for the love, compassion, and dignity shown to Marv. We can never thank them enough for being not only his caregivers, but during the pandemic, his family, when we couldn’t visit. The family also wishes to thank Andy Eberhardt & Troy Stevenson, Rev. Caleb Rothfuss, the caring members at St. Paul Lutheran Church for the phone calls and the Compassus Hospice team for their kind and compassionate care.

Marv’s memorial service will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Caleb Rothfuss officiating. Inurnment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville with military honors conducted by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63, VFW Post #664, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, and DAV Chapter #53. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family. www.eberhardtstevenson.com Since Marv was a casual guy, please feel free to dress casually. For those wishing, memorials are appreciated for the St. Paul Lutheran Hymnal Fund.

Welcome him Lord to your garden of rest. For here on earth he was one of the best.
