Mayme Philipsen Obituary

Mayme E. Pluger-Philipsen, age 97, formerly of Midway Court, Clintonville, passed away Thursday evening, July 13, 2006 at Heartland Health Care Center, Shawano, where she had lived since January.
The former Mayme E. Kuhn was born September 9, 1908 at Shiocton, WI. and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Flora (Kunschke) Kuhn. She was united in marriage to Ferdinand Pluger on January 27, 1926, and operated a restaurant in Clintonville for a time, and owned and operated a restaurant in Appleton for many years. On October 8, 1966, Mayme was united in marriage to Theodore Philipsen. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Marion, and enjoyed playing cards, dominos, and was a good cook.
There are 10 surviving children, Virgil (Dorothy) Pluger, Ringle, Arvin (friend Til) Pluger, Clintonville, Elizabeth (friend Larry) Voelske, Fall River, Shirley Buss, Marion, Patricia (Gabe) Hollander, Wausau, Robert (Mary) Pluger, Tilleda, Jeanette (DuWayne) Pitt, Bonduel, Floyd (friend Jean) Pluger, Marion, Douglas (Sandy) Pluger, Humphieys, Korea, and Darlene (Mike) Little, Avon Park, FL. There 49 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren. Also one daughter-in-law, Patricia Pluger, Shawano. Mayme was preceded in death by husbands, Ferd Pluger, and Ted Philipsen, one son, Wayne Pluger, four grandchildren, one brother, Paul Kuhn, two sons-in-law, Arthur Voelske, and David Buss, and one daughter-in-law, Alice (Reinke) Pluger.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Marion. Fr. John Girotti will officiate, with burial in St., Mary Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday evening at the BeiL-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, and at the church, Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the "great" care given to Mayme by Heartland Health Care Center, Shawano, and Heartland Home Healthcare & Hospice, DePere, WI. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Church, Marion.
