Melody Schilling Obituary

Melody J. Schilling, age 67 of the Township of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away on Sunday July 28, 2024 at her home with her family by her side, after a battle with cancer.

Melody “Mel” Jean Schilling was born September 25, 1956 in Montana, daughter to the late John & Jeanette “Janet” (Dean) Songs Sr. She was united in marriage to Roger E. Schilling Sr. on September 8, 1984 at Olen Park, Clintonville. She worked various jobs over the years, most recently as a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Shawano. Mel enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and horse-back riding. She also shot pool for many years in the Cloverleaf Women’s League for Til’s Pitstop. Playing cards with friends and family was always something she looked forward to; as well as spending time with her canine companion, Dukey.

She is survived by her step-children: Lori Schilling, Lisa Hall, Roger (Margaret) Schilling Jr., Connie (Scott) Allaire, Bonnie (Mark) Labrosse, and Shari Cochran & family.
Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Her best friend: Lynnaa Mack
As well as, Kevin Eulrich, a.k.a., her “adopted son”

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Jeanette “Janet” (Dean) Songs Sr.; her husband, Roger E. Schilling Sr.; and brothers, Dean Songs & John Songs Jr.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her hospice nurse, Kristy; Pastor Jill Meyer; and her doctors in Appleton and Shawano for their care during her illness.

As per Melody’s wishes, a private graveside will be held at Bethesda Cemetery at a later date.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville is assisting the Schilling family with arrangements.
