Michael E. Blumreich, age 68 of Montello, formerly of Tigerton, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Michael “Mike” Ervin Blumreich was born September 27, 1955 in Tigerton, WI, son to Marlene (Kriesel) Blumreich and the late Ervin Blumreich Jr. He was baptized, confirmed and later married all at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Mike attended Tigerton High School and graduated with the class of 1973. He started work at Marathon Electric of Wausau more recently known as Regal Rexnord Corp., in October of 1973 and worked as a Die Cast Operator for 46 years. He was a proud union member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1791, Wausau. Mike was united in marriage to Cynthia “Cindi” S. Kreuser at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton, on October 9, 1976. The couple lived in Tigerton for over 38 years until retirement, when they moved to a home in the Montello area. Time spent outdoors fishing and hunting with his brothers and many friends, was something he always looked forward to. He also played sports in his younger years; softball, horseshoes, and bowled both on couples and men’s leagues. As a die-hard Wisconsin sports fan, Mike was a big Packer-Backer, and also enjoyed watching the Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. In his spare time, he liked to collect beer cans from all over the place and watching birds in nature. Mike loved to listen to classic rock; his favorite being Pink Floyd, but also liked Led Zeppelin, Three Doors Down, KISS, and Ozzy Osbourne. He never missed an Iola Car Show in the summer, and enjoyed following Indy Car Racing as well as NHRA Drag Racing. A dream of Mike’s was to attend the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale, AZ to purchase a ‘55 Chevy convertible. While he was not able to do that here on Earth, he certainly will roll up to the gates to pick up Cindi someday when they can be together again. He was a faithful man who loved his family and believed in all the miracles of our Glorious Lord; Mike was blessed with many.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cindi
