Myrtle I. Kutchenriter, age 84 of the Town of Union, Waupaca County passed away Monday morning, February 5, 2024, at her daughter’s home in New London, where she had been living since mid December due to declining health.
Myrtle was born on May 25, 1939 as the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Gagnow) Trettin. Only a week after her birth, her father William passed away and her mother married Raymond Burmeister, who helped to raise Myrtle throughout her life. Myrtle graduated from Shiocton High School in 1957, and on August 29, 1959 was united in marriage to Louis Kutchenriter at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville. The couple remained members at Christus, where Myrtle was active with the Worship Committee, Altar Guild, helped with money counting, quilting, communion serving, and also volunteered with the C.L.C.W. Aside from helping Louis with the daily farm chores, Myrtle spent over 47 years working as an accountant at FWD Seagrave in Clintonville. She was also active in her community with the Waupaca County Homemakers for over 50 years, volunteering with 4-H for 48 years, Meals on Wheels, and Ruby’s Pantry. Myrtle and Louis enjoyed traveling with “Have Group Will Travel” and attending shows at the Fireside Theater in Fort Atkinson. Myrtle enjoyed all arts and crafts; especially basket weaving, quilting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was always on the go, but is now home with her Lord and husband Louis.
Survivors include: Her Daughter: Shelley (Loren) Krisher.
Grandson: Kristofer Hockers.
Step-Grandchildren: Crystal, Mandi, and Amber Hockers, Samantha (James) Head, and Kandace and Michaela Krisher.
“Adopted” Grandson: Carl Koyle.
A Sister: Linda (Alan) Stuart.
Brothers: Oliver, Ivan (Shirley), Lyle (Alice), Aaron (Sue), and Dennis (Doris) Burmeister.
Brothers-in-law: DeLyle Olson and Marvin Hoppe.
Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis in 2023, and a brother Allen Burmeister.
Myrtle’s funeral service will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11am at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9am until the time of service. Interment at Union Cemetery in Symco will follow the meal at the church. Her family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice, the cancer center, and oncology team for all of their support and assistance.
