Nancy J. Kersten, age 81 of Tigerton passed away Tuesday February 18, 2025 at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano.
Nancy Jean Packer was born on July 13, 1943 in Clintonville as the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Roloff) Packer. She grew up in the Iola area and was united in marriage to James “Jim” Kersten on July 18, 1959 in Ogdensburg. The couple moved to Embarrass for a short time before settling in Tigerton. Jim and Nancy became members of Zion Lutheran Church in town prior to becoming members of St. John’s Lutheran Church also in Tigerton. What started out as a hobby greenhouse turned into a full time business they named “Tigerton Floral”. Jim preceded his wife in death at an early age in 1991 and Nancy retired from the business a few years later. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, crafts, reading, gardening, canning, baking, and was an excellent cook. Her love of her family was evident in pretty much everything she did and she will be missed by them all very much.
