Nancy L. Schoepke, age 77 of the Town of Richmond, Shawano County, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2025 at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano.
Nancy Lea Schoepke was born November 16, 1947, daughter to the late Cleon & Germaine (Malueg) Winter. She grew up in the Embarrass area, attended St. Martin Lutheran School, and later graduated from Clintonville High School in 1965. She lived and worked in LaSalle, CO for a time as the city clerk. After moving back to the area, Nancy worked as a secretary at Century 21, and later at the radio station in Shawano, WI; retiring around 2016. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Schoepke on February 2, 2000 in Shawano. Nancy loved to travel, she had been to many states in the U.S. including Alaska, one of her favorites. She loved to spend her spare time outdoors working in her flower garden, watching hummingbirds flutter through the back yard and she also cherished her indoor African Violets. Nancy always made time for her daughter, Stephanie, taking her to special outdoor spaces like hidden beaches and parks where they could spend time together with family and friends. An avid reader, Nancy could get lost in her mystery and romance novels, often finishing these books in a matter of only a few days. Oldies music was her favorite and a sure way to get her out on the dance floor. She especially loved Neil Diamond. Nancy will be remembered as a mother who loved her family dearly, could always speak her mind, had a big heart, and was always a good listener when someone needed to talk.
