Nicholas "Nick" Little Obituary

Nicholas “Nick” J. Little, age 85 of the Township of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday evening, April 24, 2026.

Nicholas “Nick” John Little was born on December 11, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, son to the late Earl and Esther Little. On July 8, 1988, Nick married the love of his life, Leeann, and together they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Nick was a proud US Air Force veteran and active member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a current member of the American Legion, organizations that reflected his deep faith, patriotism, service, and commitment to community. He loved the outdoors, especially his legendary Canadian fishing trips and the camaraderie he cherished at deer camp. A lifelong fan of classic cars, Nick especially enjoyed attending Street Rod Nationals with his brother Bill. He also had a true love of food—everything from its preparation to sharing meals with friends and family—but his favorite indulgence was always chocolate marshmallow ice cream. Above all else, Nick’s greatest love was his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a steady presence to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Leeann Little, and his beloved family: Jenny (John) Ward of West Chester, PA; Kathy (Jim) Vetter, grandchildren Kelly-Lynn McGarry, and Tyler Vetter of Howell, MI; Michael (Sarah) Little, and grandchildren Joey and Taylor Little of Hernando, MS; Christine (Daniel) Grey, and grandchildren Kari, Michael, Emily, Nakaria, Justin, Daniel, Terrence, and Vanessa of Kimberly, WI. David (Leah Drury) Dobish, and grandchildren Aidan and Hadley Dobish of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sandy Little, numerous nieces and nephews, and four great-grandchildren.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bill and Bob Little; and his sister, Mary Albers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville with Father Simon Muriithi Minyati officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the service by VFW Post #664, American Legion Post #63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, all of Clintonville. Inurnment will take place privately on a later date at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Clintonville.
