Norma J. Zahn, age 77 of the Town of Pella, Shawano County passed away Thursday evening October 22, 2020 at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano.
Norma was born on September 10, 1943 in Waupaca County as the daughter of the late Clarence and Elsie (Oppor) Strebe. She graduated from Manawa High School in 1961 and started working as a secretary at American National Can Company in Neenah for a few years. On July 1, 1964 Norma was united in marriage to Dennis Zahn at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa. Shortly after getting married, Dennis and Norma purchased the farm in the Town of Pella from Dennis’ grandfather where they have farmed side by side ever since. Norma wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and regularly helped milk cows or feed the animals. The couple were current members at St. John’s Lutheran Church Hermanfort for many years where Norma volunteered for various activities. She was a good cook, enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football games, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include: Her Husband: Dennis Zahn.
Daughters: Lori Zahn, Tammy (Freddie “Hopper” Zimmerman) Adams, & Bobbi Jo Zahn.
Grandchildren: Jenna (Jay) Reible, Kaden Zahn, & Alex Zimmerman.
2 Great-Grandchildren.
A Sister: Jean Smith.
Brothers: Arliegh (Janet) Strebe & Walter (Elizabeth) Strebe.
A Sister-in-law: Nancy Strebe.
Also numerous other relatives and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Verlyn (Mary) Strebe & Gary Strebe, a sister Lorretta (Don) Budsberg, and a brother-in-law John Smith.
A private graveside service will be held for Norma at the St. John’s Hermanfort Cemetery in the Town of Herman, Shawano County with Rev. Steve Conradt officiating. Norma’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Evergreen Health Services as well as ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the wonderful care she received. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family.
