Norman Gebert Obituary

Norman J. Gebert, age 71 of Clintonville, passed away Sunday evening, December 19, 2021 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville surrounded by his family.

Norman John Gebert was born December 31, 1949 in Dorchester, WI, son to the late Clarence & Elisabeth (Glawe) Gebert. He attended school in Clintonville and graduated with the CHS class of 1968. He helped around the farm early on, and later worked at Behnke Cheese Co. picking up milk in the old cans and loading them on the truck. He was united in marriage to Sandra “Sandy” Lee Reinert at St. Rose Catholic Church on September 14, 1973. Norman also worked as a lineman/tree cutter, clearing trees and branches for power line systems. He worked his way up to lead man, and was put in charge of his crew. He later worked for Curwood-Bemis Co. as a flexographic operator; he worked there for many years until his retirement in 2015. He was a life-long member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Moose Lodge #1502, lifetime member of H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) since 1983, and belonged to the Night Rider’s Motorcycle Club. Norman loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and would never miss the Tomahawk Fall Ride every year. He liked to take weekend trips with his beloved Sandy, and spend time up at their permanent site at Star Campground north of Bowler. He enjoyed attending buckskinner and muzzleloader rendezvous when he was able; he made his own buckskinner outfit to wear to the events and really had fun at the gatherings. Norman also started his own motorcycle shop with his brother Steve called Gebert Cycle Shop. Sandy preceded Norman in death on October 5, 2015. Norman was a man who you never had to guess where he stood on a subject, he was a straight-shooter with no filter, who would tell it like it is. Through it all, his favorite times were ones spent with family and friends over the years.

He is survived by his sons: Christopher (Jessica) Gebert, Shawano & Matthew (Amber) Gebert, Clintonville
Grandchildren: Saphira, Morgan, & James Gebert and Andy & Danny Bodoh
Sister: Mary Gebert Reetz, Appleton
Brothers: Norbert (Jane) Gebert, Neenah; Pat (Beth) Gebert, Wausau; Richard (Corine) Gebert, Nichols; Jerome (Roxy) Gebert, Kaukauna; & Junior (Penny) Gebert, Fond du Lac

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sandy; and brothers, Stephan & Daniel Gebert.
