Patrick "Pat" S. Bessette

Patrick “Pat” S. Bessette, age 58 of Bear Creek passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with kidney cancer on Tuesday afternoon April 25, 2023.

Patrick Shawn Bessette was born on March 14, 1965 in Kalispell, MT as the son of the late Robert and Mary (Neely) Bessette. Pat graduated from Clintonville High School in 1983 and was united in marriage to Jane Stilen on September 12, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bear Creek. The couple resided in Bear Creek where Pat worked for Robert Paul Farms until 1995 when he joined the Local 955 Union as a Journeyman Carpenter for C.R. Meyer; retiring in 2018. Pat loved being outdoors camping, hunting, and fishing. Even more so when he could enjoy that time with family and friends. Some of his favorite trips were when he took his grandsons on a hog hunt in Oklahoma and ocean fishing at Gulf Shores in Alabama. Pat also loved to travel; both with Jane and for work. He loved sunny, warm places and taking walks on the beach. Pat was quite the jokester and could always get a laugh out of his grandsons with his grandpa jokes. His family will hold tight to all the wonderful memories made together over the years.

Survivors include: His Wife: Jane.
Children: Nikki (Matthew) Ziebell, Tyler Bessette, and Abby (Jeremy) Bowens.
Grandchildren: Logan, Parker, & Fischer Bessette, Ashton & Sawyer Ziebell, and Gavin Welch.
Siblings: Tony (Dana) Bessette, Crissy (Jeff Hoffmann) Wenzel, Kelly Bessette, and Lynn (Matt) Peters.
His Father-in-Law: George Stilen, Jr.
Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law: Barb (Greg) Moldenhauer, Betty (Tim) Miller, Cindy (John) Nassen, Rick Stilen, Bev (Scott) Zempel, Ken (Mary) Stilen, Dave (Mary) Stilen, and Michael Lorge.
Also numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-laws Christine Stilen & Diane Stilen, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Donna Lorge, Donald Stilen, Jeff Stilen, Jill Stilen, a niece Dawn Barches, and a nephew A.J. Miller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Pat on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 1:30pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bear Creek with Fr. Timothy Shillcox O. Praem officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bear Creek at a later date. Friends may call on Friday from 5-7pm at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville and again on Saturday at the church from 11am until the time of the service.
