Pearl B. Plauster, age 104 of the Township of Pella, Shawano County, passed away peacefully late Thursday evening at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano.
Pearl Bertha Plauster was born on May 20, 1921, in the Township of Seneca, the daughter of the late Alex and Julia (Lang) Kroening. On July 3, 1940, she was united in marriage to Martin Plauster. While she lived in Marion and Split Rock for a time, she spent the majority of her life in the Caroline area.
A dedicated homemaker, Pearl’s greatest joy was raising her eight children. She was a woman of many talents, but she was perhaps best known for her incredible baking; her homemade bread was legendary, and everyone who knew her hoped for a fresh loaf or slice. Her hands were rarely still—if she wasn't in the kitchen, she was likely tending to her vibrant flower gardens of tulips, roses, and gladiolas, or harvesting from her large vegetable garden to begin the season's canning.
Pearl also had a passion for collecting, amassing a cherished collection of hundreds of dolls over the decades. She possessed a deep love for children and babies, and in her later years, she loved nothing more than looking through old family photos and sharing vivid stories from her youth and the history of the area.
She is survived by her children: Jerry (Hazel) Plauster, LeRoy (Pamela) Plauster, James Plauster, Carol (Boyce) Michalak, Gloria (Reinhard) Miller, Dan Plauster, Doug Plauster, & Delores Lhotka
Grandchildren: Eric Michalak, Jeff Miller, Mark Miller, & Dawn Thompson
Great-grandchildren: Nathan Miller, Jayden Miller, Cameron Miller, Hudson Miller, Hayden Miller, Bryce Miller, Ireland Miller, Brody Miller, Auron Drier, & Tristan Forseth
Great-great-grandchildren: Grayson & Colson
Special nieces & nephews: Lai Lonnie, LaVonne, LaNette, & Craig
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; siblings, Alex (Joyce) Kroening, Marvin Kroening, Opal (Melvin) Splittgerber, Faye (Ben) Krause, & Harvey (Linda) Kroening; and a granddaughter, Connie Miller.
