Pollyann Krieser, age 78 of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London.
Pollyann was born January 19, 1945 in Clintonville, daughter to the late Cecil & Mina (Jarvis) Welch. She was a student in Marion graduating in 1964. She worked as a carhop at the Marion Rootbeer Stand while in high school during the summer; and waitressed at the Malt Shop at noon. After school, she also clerked at the IGA which was owned by her future in-laws. After graduation, she attended and graduated from Green Bay Accredited School of Cosmetology. She married her high school sweetheart, Kevin Krieser on July 25, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marion. They moved to Waukesha and Pollyann worked at Lanon Beauty Shop. After three years, the couple moved back to Marion to build a 24 unit mobile home park which they owned and operated for 30 years. She also worked at Cinderella Beauty Salon for 32 years. She and her best friend, Karen Knitt, ran five rest home beauty shops together.
She was a charter member of the Marion Lioness, Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, and played in card clubs. She loved crafting and studied Norwegian Rosemaling, which she later ended up teaching classes at Fox Valley Technical College.
Pollyann would say the best part of her life was her family; her husband of too many years to count, Kevin Krieser; her son, Kelly Krieser; and her daughter, Kimberly Krieser Sauer (husband, David). She was a proud grandmother of Ryan Krieser. She loved taking trips, traveling, and camping with them. She also loved her flower gardens, watching the birds, and loved animals - dogs and cats. She was the type who would go pick up a kitten and end up returning with three because she didn’t want to split them up. She had a real heart of gold. In retirement, she also loved to help out her daughter at her gift shop, “A Unique Boutique,” in Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Mina(Jarvis) Welch, her sister in-law Karen Welch, and grandson Bryan Krieser.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-3 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home in Marion. 1029 N. Main St. Marion, WI 54950.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the compassion of the hospital and hospice staff that cared for Pollyann during her last days at ThedaCare Medical Center - New London.
