Rick Carley Obituary

Rick E. Carley, age 66 of the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, WI passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his home.

Rick Edwin Carley was born September 1, 1956, son to Shirley (Schmidt) Carley and the late Edwin G. Carley. He attended school in Marion and was a talented wrestler. Rick went to the WI State Wrestling Tournament multiple years and did very well. After graduation from Marion High School, Rick worked with his dad at Midwest Livestock Producers. Later, when the sale barn became Equity Livestock, he managed the operation with his family. Rick also took the opportunity to work for Equity at their Stratford location where he also succeeded. He still found time to help his family with their businesses as well at Carley Sales in Marion. He drove trucks for their livestock transportation business, and maintained the grounds at the exchange building. Rick was a very talented auctioneer and enjoyed working with his family at the household and consignment sales. Rick was married to Deb Lutzewitz on March 3, 1979 and had three children together. After 13 years of marriage, the couple divorced but became good friends later on in life.  Rick loved to fish and really enjoyed hitting his "hot-spots'' on lakes up north, especially Big Sand Lake where he caught most of his perch. He hunted in his younger years but really enjoyed annual fishing trips up to Canada with his father and brothers.  Another passion that he was very talented at was shooting pool. He thoroughly enjoyed going to pool league at Bun's Fireside and entering tournaments. Rick's home was built in his vision, deep in the pines on swamp road.  Pines that his Father planted many years before. He loved his home and sharing it with loved ones. He also really enjoyed the time he spent attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Rick would do anything for his children and family. He'll be remembered for his high energy, personality, integrity, determination, and his great work ethic.
