Ronald Zuehl Obituary

Ronald H. Zuehl, age 86 of the Township of Dupont, passed away on Thursday June 4, 2020, at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Ronald “Ron” Howard Zuehl was born September 28, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI, son to the late Howard & Frieda (Matthias) Zuehl. Ron went to school through 10th grade at Solomon Juneau and later attended and graduated from Boy Technical College. As a young man, Ron attended St. Martin Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, where he was also confirmed. Ron worked on the Milwaukee Railroad beside his father for years, until he was involved in an accident which ended his career. He was untied in marriage to Anne Trier on January 16, 1960 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. The couple purchased a house in Pewaukee where they raised three boys; later the family purchased a farm and moved to Dussman. Ron was the constable of Dussman, and he also ran a nursing home out of their home. Later in life, they re-located to the Township of Grant, where they owned and operated the Caroline Ballroom for more than 25 years. Anyone who remembers the Caroline Ballroom will attest to it having the best chicken around, the large number of weddings hosted, as well as great rock bands, Polka dances, and Western dances. Ron also had a pig farm in the Town of Dupont for many years and was active with a pork producers organization; promoting the pork industry at the Wisconsin State Fair. He was a member of the Caroline Lions Clubs, and was able to travel to Mexico to help with the Lions eyeglasses program down there; a member of the Marion Pond Assoc., instrumental in the draining of the pond and re-stocking fish. Ron also loved horse trail rides with his friends, riding his prized Arabian, Nabisco. He was also key in starting the Caroline Colorama Trail Ride, which has grown to be one of the largest in the state and is still going strong. He enjoyed hunting trips to Wyoming with his dear friends, the Nolan, Jueds, and Hanson families. After retirement, Ron and Anne built a log home on their land in the Town of Dupont, where they shared many years together until their health started to decline. Ron is now together with his beloved Anne, but he will still be loved and missed by friends and family alike.
