Ruben Braun Obituary

Ruben H. Braun, age 89, of 608 NE First Street, Marion, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Shawano Medical Center.

Ruben Harold Braun was born September 9, 1916 in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, and was the son of the late Ed and Esther (Pockat) Braun. He was a lifetime resident of the Marion area, and served in the U.S. Army. On June 18, 1943, Ruben was united in marriage to Edna I. Radtke at St. John Lutheran Church, Marion. He worked as a meat cutter for 25 years, for the former Balderson's Market, Marion, and worked for 16 years as a custodian for the Marion School District. retiring in 1981. Ruben was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marion, and served as a church trustee, usher, and church custodian. His favorite interests were his grandchildren, fishing, and going to his trailer at Pelican Lake. Ruben was a member of the Marion Conservation Club, Senior Center Dart Ball Team, and enjoyed snowmobiling, and was an avid Brewers fan and Packers fan.

Survivors include one son, James (Nancy) Braun, Green Bay, and three grandchildren, Heidi, Kristie, and Kevin (Amy Lynn) Braun. Ruben was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, and one sister, Lucille Brandenburg.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Marion. Rev. Skip Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenleaf Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday at the BeiL-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, and Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services.
