Russel L. Knapp, age 75 of the Township of Maple Creek, passed away Friday morning September 13, 2024 at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London.
Russel “Russ” Lee Knapp was born July 12, 1949 in New London, WI as son to the late Edwin and Ruth Knapp. Russel was united in marriage to Sandra (Warmbrunn) Kempf in August 1975. Together they lived on a farm in the Township of Maple Creek where he planted, raised, and harvested crops in the fields. After moving on from farming Russ became a semi-truck driver hauling grain locally until he retired from the workforce.
In his free time Russ pursued his many hobbies. Russ was an avid race fan and for a time raced modified models on a dirt track. He enjoyed camping and taking his boat out on the lake. Whenever possible, Russ would use his gifts as a mechanic to work on projects out in his shop. The most recent was bringing an old Case tractor back to life. Lastly, for better or for worse, he was a diehard Bears fan.
Survivors include:

Daughter: Shelia (John) Gerht
