Sandra "Sandy" Loberg Obituary

Sandra “Sandy” L. Loberg, age 78 of Clintonville entered eternal rest with her Lord Saturday morning December 2, 2023 after braving the effects of a stroke suffered earlier in the week.

Sandra Lee Wied was born on February 27, 1945 in Clintonville as the daughter of the late Willard and Mabel (DeYoung) Wied. She graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1963.  Sandy was united in marriage to Mike Loberg on February 13, 1965 at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville where they resided their entire married life. As a young woman, Sandy started out working at Hanson Glove Factory, then it was on to a nurse’s aide position at the Clintonville Hospital before she settled into her role as the secretary and member of the United Methodist Church; retiring just two years ago. In her 47 1/2 years in that position, Sandy dedicated all of her creativity to organizing events that brought people together in celebration and fellowship. She was a great organizer of community events as well. She especially loved to shape the culture of Clintonville through the organization of parades to commemorate historical events. Her ability to manage a thousand details was admired by all who knew  her. Sandy was also a brilliant historian and writer with immense nostalgia about her hometown. She was always researching Clintonville’s history and telling its story as an author and editor for the Clintonville Historical Society's Pigeon Post. Sandy was honored to receive the Clintonville Hero Award from the Clintonville Area Foundation for all of her hard work and contributions for the town. All of her many projects were supported by the help and dedication of her loving husband who was always willing to lend a hand. She was immensely proud of her four daughters and actively involved in all aspects of their lives. Her daughters have always been inspired by her many talents. Sandy cherished her role as Grandmother of ten and loved to follow and support their many adventures. She was known as Grandma-Great by her five great-grandchildren and was enjoying watching this new group come into the world. She will be missed, not only for her vast knowledge, creativity and humor, but for her generous and loving spirit that was always willing to do the work to make her family feel celebrated and her community and world a better place.
