Susan "Sue" Stehula Obituary

Susan “Sue” Kay Stehula, born January 25th, 1965, passed away January 6th, 2025 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee Wisconsin, in the company of her husband, Mark.

Sue grew up in Shawano County Wisconsin with her parents Duane and Mary (Suehring) Rades, and her older brother Kevin Rades. Sue attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella Wisconsin and graduated from Clintonville High School where she developed her passion for math.

Sue moved to the Fox Cities to attend Fox Valley Technical College where she earned an associate degree in accounting. In 1992 she married her husband Mark. Shortly after, they started their family and had their first baby, as Sue began her first year at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Sue passed her CPA exam on her first attempt and made a career for herself as a public accountant. Together Sue and Mark made a home in Appleton and raised their children, Mitchell and Megan Stehula.

She was an active mother and loved nurturing her children's interests. Sue was an accomplished Girl Scout Leader of Troop 149 for her daughter Meg, and a beloved chaperone for her son Mitch’s Lego League. Later when her children grew she became a patron of the arts as she watched her daughter Megan act in plays, and traveled with her son Mitch (and Appleton East Marching Band) to Italy. She acted as a mother to many, hosting a great deal of British soccer trainers, 3 international students, and boisterous groups of her children’s friends.

Sue spent her short retirement in Townsend Wisconsin with her husband Mark. There, she was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She felt joy tending to her chickens, and cuddling with her dogs Sadie and Macy. She had many hobbies such as: baking, sewing, cooking, doing puzzles, telling dad jokes, scrapbooking and learning about history. Her family will miss her for her silly jokes and sense of humor most of all.

In death, Sue rejoins her father Duane Rades, and father in law Leon Stehula. Sue will be greatly missed by her mother Mary, two children Mitch, and Megan, and her husband Mark. Her brother Kevin, and sister in law Debby Rades – as well as their two children – Sues’s niece Beth Rades, and nephew Paul Rades. Sue’s mother in law Mary, brother in law Brian, sister in law April - as well as their two children - Forrest and Autumn. Sue’s Sister in law Kris and her daughter, Alaina, Sue’s niece. As well as extended family and friends.

A service in memory of Sue will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella Wisconsin, with the Rev. Bo Baumeister officiating.

Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00am - 11:00am; and a luncheon will follow the service.

A celebration of life will be held at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Townsend Wisconsin later this year.
