Theadale “Teddy” E. Eggleston, age 83 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family.

"Teddy"

Theadale Elinor (Meyer) Eggleston was born on March 20, 1936 in Waltham, 
Minn., the daughter of the late Arnold and Eleanora (Wuertz) Meyer. She was baptized 
April 9,1936 and was confirmed on April 2, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waltham, 
Minn. She spend her early life growing up on the family farm, attending the Trinity 
Lutheran Parochial School for her first eight years, and later graduating from Austin High 
School in Austin, Minn. on June 3, 1954. She continued with her education at the Austin 
Junior College in Austin, Minn., Concordia Teacher College in Seward, Nebr., and 
Mankato State Teacher College in Mankato, Minn. In the fall of 1955, she accepted a 
teaching position at the St. Martin Parochial School in Clintonville, Wis. On June 16, 1956, 
she became united in marriage to Robert Eggleston at the Trinity Lutheran Church in 
Waltham, Minn. The couple then moved to Menomonee, Wis. where she taught grades K-3 
at St. Paul Parochial School while Robert attended University of Wisconsin-Stout. In 1959 
they moved to Marion, Wis. where she became a substitute teacher in the Marion School 
District for nearly thirty years. In 1988 she began working at Tiny Trucker Day Care in 
Clintonville, Wis. and did so for seven years. From 1995 until 1999, she became co- 
manager of the Marion Hillside Manor Apartments. She did some substitute teaching at 
the Play and Learn Pre-School in Clintonville, Wis. for many years until 2017. She taught the 
Stepping Stone Wednesday out reach program at the Methodist Church in Marion starting 
in 2007 until 2011. She also enjoyed teaching bridge classes. 
She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Marion, Wis. for 48 years. She 
was a former children's choir director, Sunday school teacher, senior choir member, and 
served on the Student Fund committee. In 2007, she became a member of Christus 
Lutheran Church in Clintonville, Wis. where she became chairperson of her service group 
and also served on the Evangelism committee she was a member of The Marion Woman’s 
Club from 1966 until 2004. She held the office as treas. from 1983 to 1996. She was a 
Marion Bloodmobile worker from 1959-93, a Girl Scout Cookie chairperson for ten years, 
and a past treasurer for the Marion P.T.A. She has served as a director on the Clintonville 
Riverside Golf Club Women's Board, a member of the Clintonville Hospital Auxiliary, a 
volunteer for "Meal on Wheels", and the Marion City Hostess for four years. Teddy loved 
to play bridge. She and her husband were members of a Couples Bridge Marathon for 
twenty years. She was involved in a Ladies Bridge Marathon and also was member of the 
"Marionettes" Bridge Club and the "Fun & Games" Bridge Club. In 2007, she organized 
the "Fun with Friends" Bridge Club for twelve gals from Marion, Shawano, Pella, and 
Clintonville, For more than fifty years, she has been a member of the Neighbors and 
Friends "Breakfast Club". She joined the Perry’s Landing Golf Club in 1997 where she 
organized a lady's golf league and a social card group of forty-eight women. One of her 
greatest pleasures was to send cards to people, which she continued to do until her death. 
She was an avid walker. 

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her three daughters, Tamara (Gary) 
Albrecht, Madison, Valarie Eggleston, Green Bay, Raquel (Keith) Michel, Evansville; 
four grandchildren, Matthew Albrecht, Decatur, IL, Elyse (Jason) Jadczak, Kenosha, 
Wi.; Joshua Michel, Evansville. Wi, Lily Michel, Evansville, Wi.; two great grandchildren Jackson and Lincoln Jadczak, Kenosha Wi., two brothers, Robert Meyer, Waltham, 
Minn., James (Carolyn) Meyer, Rochester, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Carol Meyer, 
Mound, Minn.; Joanne Rasmussen, New London, Wi; & two brothers-in-law, William (Virginia) Eggleston, Appleton, Wi; Richard (Susan) Eggleston, New Berlin, Wi; & Many nieces & nephews. 

Theadale was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Arnold, a sister Irma 
Mueller, four brothers-in-law Vernon Mueller, James Eggleston, Howard Eggleston, 
Donald Eggleston, five sisters-in-law Florence Meyer, Phyllis Eggleston, Mary Eggleston, 
Donna Eggleston, Janet Eggleston, and mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Hildegarde 
Eggleston. 

Her memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Inurnment will take place in the springtime.

Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the time of the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate her memory honored by donations to 
Christus Lutheran Church.
 
A special thanks to all the friends for the visits, many cards, calls, and compassion 
shown to "Teddy" through the years. The family would especially like to extend a "thank 
you" to the caretakers in the Hospice and ThedaCare At Home Programs, the staff at the 
Shawano ThedaCare Medical Center Cancer Care, Pastor Brian Crocker and Intern Shelly
Klemp, and The Eberhardt and Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory. 

One final thought--" Always welcome the new person in town. They also need to 
belong."
