Valeria "Val" Bork Obituary

Valeria “Val” E. Bork, age 91 of Manawa, formerly of Marion, passed away on Wednesday evening June 4, 2025 at Manawa Community Living Center.

Valeria “Val” Eileen Bork was born October 4, 1933 in the Town of Union, Waupaca County, daughter to the late William & Fronie (Hoffman) Becker. She attended Manawa Schools and later graduated from Manawa High School. Val started her career at AAL now Thrivent, Appleton working in accounting. After first meeting her future husband on a double date with her best friend, she was later united in marriage to Carl Walter Bork at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa on August 25, 1956. Val and Carl truly lived out their marriage vows sticking together through thick and thin. The couple farmed together for many years, and Val really enjoyed the day-to-day life of a farm wife, working right alongside her husband. Val later worked at Unified Health Services, Clintonville, doing bookkeeping and other office jobs. She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Dupont, where she served on church council, and as past president and treasurer of St. Paul’s Ladies Aid. She also served her community by volunteering at her local food pantry. Her faith in God always came first, and living her faith was something that came easily for Val. Family and friends were so important to her and they all will remember her as a gentle, but persistent person, who could stay positive in tough situations; always able to find the blessing within. Val lived her life as a servant to others, making certain everyone in her life was looked after.

Val is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Carl
