Verna M. Albert, age 92, formerly of 36 Brent St, Clintonville and residing at Care Partners Assisted Living in Clintonville, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024. A loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and mother-in-law, Verna left behind those that were loved.
She was born at home on the family farm in 1931, the 3rd of 4 children, to Robert & Ella (Reinke) Kraut. She remained in Clintonville and eventually married Merton Albert in 1955 where they remained and they had 2 children, Cathy & Dan.
Verna is survived by her sister Ione Garcia of Kissimmee, FL, her daughter Cathy Beckstrom of Gurnee, IL and her son Dan (Virginia) Albert of Cordova, TN. She is also survived by a granddaughter Lindsay (Dan) Wyszynski of Lindenhurst, IL, Brandon (Kelly) Albert of Drummond, TN and Crystal Albert of Austin, TX, by a Great Granddaughter, Reagan Wyszynski and a Great Grandson, Lucas Albert and nieces and nephews.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband Merton in 2016, her parents Robert and Ella Kraut and brothers Marvin and Ervie. Also preceding her in death were her in-laws Lester and Esther Albert, Son-In-Law Scott Beckstrom, Brother-In-Laws Peter Garcia and Robert Counard and Sister-In-Law Jean Counard.
She most treasured her love for and from her children. She enjoyed traveling, reading, flowers and gardening, craft shows, visiting local casinos with her sister and spending early winter months vacationing in Florida. On a lazy summer afternoon you could find her traveling the backroads in her red convertible.
A special thanks goes out to Karen and Victor Young, Larry Mehlberg and friend Jean Taylor for the help and kindness they showed in previous years and recently. Thank you to the entire staff at Care Partners for the help and care they provided.
Inurnment will take place privately at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville at a later date.
