Walter C. Sprenger Jr., age 80 of the Village of Embarrass, passed away on July 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
Walter Charles Sprenger Jr. was born June 11, 1942 in Clintonville, WI, son to the late Walter & Luella (Rades) Sprenger. He graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1960 and was hired shortly after as a welder at F.W.D. Seagrave Fire Apparatus, Clintonville. Walter was united in marriage to Renee Ziereis on August 24, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass by Rev. Edgar Barg. He chose an active role in his community by serving on the Embarrass Volunteer Fire Dept. for 31 years, 18 as president; the Village Board for 6 years, and church council for 6 years. In his younger days, Walter enjoyed working in his large garden. He was also an avid hunter, for both deer and pheasant. Fishing was a large part his life, he loved to be out on the water catching trout, walleye, and pan fish. Walter retired in 2007 from Seagrave after 47 years of employment. The only programs that were on television in the Sprenger household were the Packers, Brewers, and the Wisconsin Badgers if they were playing basketball or football.
