Yvonne Margaret (Ellenbecker) Schoen

Yvonne M. Schoen, age 75 of Caroline, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday November 27, 2020, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.

The former Yvonne Margaret Ellenbecker was born on January 10, 1945 in Appleton, WI, daughter to the late Raymond & Olive (Horn) Ellenbecker. After graduating from Appleton West High School, and working a few years at AAL, Yvonne was united in marriage to Dennis “Tater” Schoen on July 23, 1966 at Zion Lutheran Church, Appleton. Yvonne moved with her family to Caroline in 1976 and had two children. She was an avid member of the community. For many years she was choir director, and on the altar guild at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline. For many years she was president of the Blashe, Peters, Tober American Legion Auxiliary Post# 456. She also enjoyed her own business for more than 20 years, Y & J Decorating. She will be forever known for her huge flower beds, gardening, playing cards, especially Sheepshead, and knew how to do every craft imaginable.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dennis “Tater” Schoen

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna Huven; and a brother, Raymond Ellenbecker Jr.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, with the Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Interment will follow the service at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Caroline.

The visitation will also take place on Wednesday, at the church, from 10 AM until the time of service.

The Schoen family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses on the 8th floor at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton. They made it possible for the family to be together in Yvonne’s final hours.
