Daniel “Dan” O. Olson, age 62 of Clintonville passed away at his residence on Monday, January 19, 2015.
Dan was born on February 11, 1952 in New London as the son of Adalia (Ponzer) Olson and the late Dale Olson. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bear Creek and later confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton. Dan graduated from Clintonville High School in 1970 and served his country in the Army National Guard. He often spoke of his time served as “14 years, 5 months, & 17 days.” As a young man he resided in Marion while he worked for Waupaca County Highway Department. Dan later moved to Embarrass and worked for his brother Dick at Olson Rural Electric for 10 years. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass where he enjoyed ushering. Dan moved to Clintonville a few years ago where he has lived since. He had a love for the outdoors especially when it came to fishing, trapping, hunting, or trap shooting. Dan also enjoyed socializing with his friends and neighbors and was a very proud grandfather.
Survivors include: His Son: Chad (Shelly) Olson, Marion.
Mother: Adalia Olson, Clintonville.
Grandchildren: Alex Johnson, Joseph & Gabby Olson.
Brothers: Doug (Connie) Olson, St. Germain & Dick (Bonnie) Olson, Clintonville.
Nieces & Nephews: Kari (Greg) Maines, Kyle (Sheila) Olson, his Goddaughter; Andrea (Nate) Michonski, Abbey Olson, Austin (Brianna) Olson, Adler “A.J.” Olson, Tracy Sirna, & Travis (Fiance; Dani See) Olson.
Also numerous great-nieces and great-nephews & friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Dale, brothers; Dirk, Darrell, & Duke, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass with Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Military honors will be conducted outside of the church by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63 and VFW Post #664 following the service. Inurnment will be at a later date at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Embarrass.
Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville on Friday from 4 – 7 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
